If you’re a notary, you have probably heard about the National Notary Association (or NNA for short).
They have much helpful information, but they offer continuing education and even a valuable membership (great for new notaries).
Never heard of the NNA?
Well put, they offer a variety of training for notaries (in every state)!
That is where the National Notary Association (NNA) comes in. And I feel that new notaries should look into this.
NNA offers a lot in the notary community. And getting their Notary Essentials was worth every penny, in my opinion.
Never Stop Learning
No matter what field you are in, continuing to educate yourself is important. This is very important for Notaries because laws change (especially if you live in California).
NNA’s Notary Essentials course might be the perfect fit for you. It certainly was for me.
When looking for this course, you start by choosing what state you’re in, as laws differ from state to state.
In this course, you will better understand performing notary acts.
Notary Essentials is A Great Course For All Notaries
Signing up for the class is easy, and you have immediate access after your payment.
The layout of this online course is excellent. It’s clear what each section was, making it easy to review if it’s ever needed.
I suggest taking notes and rewatching anything as many times as you need. This will help you understand what is required with general notary work.
Depending on what state you are in, as I mentioned previously, I’m in California, which includes a mandatory six-hour training before you are allowed to take the CA notary exam.
I took a separate training (not from NNA), and it provided enough information to pass my exam on the first try. But, the online course wasn’t laid out well, had a few glitches, and I should have taken the NNA CA course.
This was the main reason I took the Notary Essentials course. I felt I still had questions and never wanted to mess up. This is why I wanted to share this information with you.
Your state might not require a training course. But making sure you know how to complete a signing will help ease the stress a little.
NNA even explains how to complete a notary stress-free, proven five-step process. I’ve used it every time and think it helps make sure you complete the signing error-free.
And that brings me back to looking elsewhere to find the answers to my questions, and this class was it for me.
If you are wondering, the NNA has other courses you can take. They are packed full of helpful information. I have yet to find one I didn’t find something useful.
A Quick Note About Loan Signing
If you didn’t already know, there is more work than just general notary work.
I could make a list, but I just wanted to take a quick moment and talk about one that is very interesting and one you may want to check out.
That is becoming a loan signing agent.
As you can imagine, NNA has a loan signing course you can take. I will add that I didn’t take their class (I took another one that I enjoyed), but I did take their exam and background checked through the NNA.

For now, it’s important to realize there is more work out there than just a few bucks for general signings.
I’m already getting some loan signing jobs and think it’s a great way to earn side income (and hopefully a full-time income).
And no, you don’t need to take a course or training to be a loan signing agent. You should if you want to know what your doing, get clients and referrals, and feel like you know what you’re doing.
Before looking into this, you better know how to do general notary work. So my suggestion is to take NNA’s Notary Essentials training before you even think about doing anything extra.

NNA did a great job teaching me how to complete general notary work, and I’m pleased with my purchase.
Notary Essentials is geared more toward the new notary and will provide more clarification on what you can and cannot do. Which is vital to make sure you are doing what is legal in your state.
