We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post, but this does NOT cost you anything extra! Check out my full disclosure for more info.

You are on your way to building a website! Congratulating on this HUGE accomplishment!

In the next post, we will talk more about finding your niche, but it’s important to know that after you have your domain name, you must have a hosting service for your site.

The following will help you find a hosting company that works for you. If you read the title, you will know that I highly suggest Bluehost.

In a nutshell, Bluehost is a service used to ‘park’ your domain. They have excellent customer service as well as very reasonable rates.

Up until this point, if you have done any research on website hosting companies, you will notice a TON of them out there. There’s so much information on this topic that it is overwhelming.

Many sites go into the pros and cons of the top hosting services, but today I will explain why Bluehost will beat all of them.

I’m a strong believer in only suggesting services and products that you use. I don’t make things up, give stories about friends. I only share my own believes and experiences.

I’ve used Bluehost for years, and that is why I’m willing to say they are worth checking out. If you’re ready, let’s get started!

Building A Website

To start, you want to go with a hosting company that has been around, has an excellent track record, reviews, reliable, and top-notch customer service.

Add to that, someone you know (besides me) probably has used Bluehost. Being one of the largest web hosting services with over 2 million domains means you are in good hands.

We will get to why you need web hosting in a second. But I want to share with you a cool search box they offer. If you are still unsure about your domain name, type your name in the box below.

This will tell you if that is available. You can play around and see if any other names are available.

Give the search box below a try!

Okay, it’s time to learn more about web hosting. Then you can get to the fun stuff of building up your website!

Why Do You Need Hosting?

As I mentioned above, it’s simply because you need somewhere to park the domain you now have.

Here is a quick example for you:

I purchased a domain name (with a company named CheapName). In this case, I am hosting this domain name on Bluehost.

You might wonder why to go with two different companies; the main reason is security. The thought is that if something goes wrong with either the domain or hosting, such as a hacker gets in. You will not lose everything.

– Please note, you do not need to do this –

This might be a bit confusing if you are just starting. Suppose it’s easier for you to keep everything in one place that works perfectly fine.

I also have two other domains that I have purchased and hosted with Bluehost. The idea is to share that you don’t have to stick with only one company.

You can even try and shop around for a cheaper domain cost. That is why places like CheapName or GoDaddy are around.

Word of Advice

My word of advice is to start with one site. You might have a few websites that you want to purchase.

But allowing yourself time to learn and grow, you will see that just one website takes a lot of time to start, build, and create content. Not to mention you will make a lot of mistakes in the beginning. That is all part of learning to build your website.

If you want to try and shop around for a cheaper domain, more power to you. Otherwise, the simpler approach is buying and hosting with a company like Bluehost.

You might think moving domains from one company to another is a huge process. Guess what? Bluehost makes it straightforward.

Reasons To Get Bluehost

If you still want more information on why I think Bluehost is awesome, here they are.

  • Excellent customer service
  • Many different price points, $3.95 a month, for example
  • Something I love has unlimited sites
  • Easy one-click WordPress install (which I will cover in another post)

Other Hosting Companies

There are many hosting companies you can choose from. As of this post, I use two.

  • Bluehost, as I mentioned, have really enjoyed
  • Wealthy Affiliate (a quick one-stop-shop)

Like Bluehost, Wealthy Affiliate takes all the guesswork about having a website. It’s also super convenient to have everything in one place.

Having multiple accounts and passwords can be a lot to remember.

Give Bluehost A Try and Let Me Know What You Think

There you have it. Now you should have your domain name and a hosting company.

Once you purchase the package you want, you will need to answer a few questions. But that is all part of the process. They make it very easy to follow and complete.

You have many options when choosing a hosting service for your website. As I mentioned, I have used BlueHost for years. They offer great rates, have amazing customer service, have an easy way to get WordPress, and are easy to use.

I highly suggest you give Bluehost a try. You will not regret it.
